What is NOT an example of regulated data?

Although keeping track of your software licenses is crucial, there are no regulations on how that data set should be stored, transferred, or used. What happens to credit card transactions, healthcare information, and personally identifiable information (PII) is governed by industry and/or governmental rules. Data is significantly more valuable than the hardware it resides on, thus every IT department's first priority should be to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility (CIA) of that data.
