What should you do to prevent mobile users on your network from unintentionally giving root access or unauthorized account access?

Security holes of operating systems in mobile devices can act as back doors through which users can gain root or unauthorized account access. Keep operating systems updated because most of these holes are fixed by patches and upgrades as soon as they are found. As malware can cause sudden, unexplained high usage, monitoring usage should be a part of system maintenance. A firewall wouldn't help in this case, and turning off the phone's location services, camera, and microphone would render it useless.
