Password attacks take place when an account's password is repeatedly guessed with the goal of figuring out the password that will grant access. Applications created to crack passwords systematically send possible passwords to the account. Brute-force and dictionary attacks are two different kinds of password attacks. Zombie and botnet attacks occur when the victim is unaware that malware is installed on their computer. Their computer is a zombie, and a botnet attack is when numerous zombies are deployed to attack a system. An attempt to masquerade as someone or something else is called a spoofing attack.
