While walking around the outside of your office building, your Wi-Fi analyzer detects that your network is visible in the parking lot. You are afraid that an unauthorized individual may join to your wireless network. What should you do to relieve your concern?

A Lower the WAP's power setting.

Setting a WAP to transmit at maximum power may allow Wi-Fi to extend into regions where you don't want it to. Because it picks up signals from neighbouring Wi-Fi networks, it can also produce more interference, resulting in poor performance and stability. The signal strength is unaffected by enabling or removing the SSID broadcast. It may take some experimenting with settings, antennae, and location to get the Wi-Fi transmission just right, but in this case, decreasing the WAP's power setting is a good point to start.
