You must install Windows 11 from installation media. You will launch Setup on the media while still on the current Windows 10 desktop. What is NOT an option in this situation?

Windows Update in the Settings app is the simplest way to install Windows 11 on a Windows 10 computer. If that isn't an option, you can create Windows 11 installation media and use that to install the operating system. There are three choices available when you launch the installation from within Windows 10. The first option is Full Upgrade, which keeps all of the Windows settings, drivers, personal files, and apps. The second option, Keep Data Only, will retain drivers and personal files, not installed apps or Windows Settings. The third option, a Clean Install, will remove everything from the drive and install a new copy of Windows 11. A clean install is the only option if you boot a computer from the installation media.
