You must turn off Airplane mode and enable NFC in order to use NFC services like Apple Pay and Google Pay. On Apple devices, go to Settings, Control Center, and click the green plus sign next to NFC Tag Reader. Download the Google Pay app for Android devices, open it, and follow the onscreen instructions. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi have no impact on the NFC reader.
