1212The Control Panel's Power Options utility offers a setting to enable or disable USB Selective Suspend. To get there, select Power Options, then Change Plan Settings, then Change Advanced Power Settings, and finally USB Settings from the Settings menu. It should be noted that this option is not available in the Control Panel Power Options utility in Windows 11. Choose Universal Serial Bus Controllers in Device Manager, then double-click USB Root Hub, go to the Power Management tab, and select "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power." Refer to the image. When USB devices, such as a card reader or signature pad, are not in use, it makes sense to turn them off, which is exactly what USB Selective Suspend offers. USB Selective Suspend is enabled by default in Windows 10, and this option is available in Windows 11. Programs and Features enables users to add, remove, or troubleshoot installed programs (options vary per program) as well as add or remove Windows features. Indexing Options collects text in files as well as the metadata of the files in order to allow faster file searches.
