You've just installed and configured a new WAP to improve network access in a distant area of the facility. Even if you're looking up at the WAP, there are just a couple of bars when you turn on your laptop to check connectivity. What should you do?

In wireless connectivity, improperly set antennas can make a significant difference. In this situation, use a Wi-Fi analyzer and a few minutes to evaluate the signal strength and tweak the antenna till it's exactly where you want it. Because you're directly beneath the WAP and staring up at it, you wouldn't need to change the signal strength. Even at the lowest power setting, you should observe more bars. It makes no difference whether or not the SSID is broadcast.
